Reading list, autumn 2026
Oct 29, 2026
What I read since August, roughly in order, with one line each so I remember why.
Finished
- The Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco — slower than I remembered, worth it for the library alone.
- The Design of Everyday Things, Don Norman — I now notice every door that needs a sign saying PUSH.
- Roadside Picnic, the Strugatsky brothers — reread, still the best short novel I know.
- Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, Samin Nosrat — explains why my soups were bland. It was salt.
Abandoned
- A popular productivity book I won't name. It could have been a blog post. It might have been one.
Next
- Middlemarch, finally.
- Bread Science, Emily Buehler — see the sourdough post for why.
